Engaging SIEC's

Supporting stronger engagement with State Independent Electoral Commissions and promoting greater understanding of the institutions responsible for elections at the state and local government levels.

About the programme

Understanding the institutions responsible for state-level elections

State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs) are constitutionally established bodies responsible for organising, undertaking and supervising elections into local government councils in their respective states.

Engaging SIEC's focuses on bringing attention to these electoral institutions, their structures and their roles within Nigeria's electoral system. It provides an avenue for learning about the commissions across the federation and the importance of their work.
