Democracy Day 2025
As we mark Democracy Day, IRIAD–The Electoral Hub calls for a renewed commitment to the values that sustain a thriving democracy in Nigeria. Public accountability must include the proactive disclosure of policies and decisions to build trust and transparency. Upholding the rule of law, ensuring free and fair elections, and protecting human rights are essential foundations.
A secure society, decisive action against corruption, and inclusive opportunities for marginalised groups are key to national progress. Access to basic services must improve, while open dialogue and unity should guide our collective efforts. Above all, we need leadership driven by performance and integrity.
Let us build a stronger, more inclusive democracy together.
