Courtesy visit to INEC’s Gender and Inclusivity Department

The Electoral Hub/ Initiative for Research, Innovation and Advocacy in Development (IRIAD) paid a courtesy visit to INEC’s Gender and Inclusivity Department on Friday, 7 October 2022.

We commended INEC for its efforts in promoting electoral inclusivity with the establishment of the department.

We advocated for applying gender and inclusivity frameworks on issues of:
1. The new Electoral Act,
2. Electoral technology,
3. PVC collection,
4. Location and access to PUs
5. UNSCR 1325 and electoral violence
6. Youth as major stakeholder in ensuring peaceful and inclusive general election.

The Director of the Department in response reiterated INEC’s commitment to free, fair, peaceful, and inclusive general election.
