FRN CONSTITUTIONS (1922-1999)
Nigeria has had a total of nine Constitutions since 1922. These can be divided into the Colonial period and the Post-Colonial period.
During the Colonial period, there were four Constitutions:
- The Clifford Constitution of 1922
- The Richards Constitution of 1946
- The Macpherson Constitution of 1951
- The Lyttleton Constitution of 1954
During the Colonial period, there were four Constitutions:
- The 1960 Constitution (Independence Constitution)
- The 1963 Constitution (First Republic)
- The 1979 Constitution (Second Republic)
- The 1993 Constitution (Third Republic)
- The 1999 Constitution (Fourth Republic)
